![]() Public Service Loan Forgiveness was one of the initial programs that led me to create NewBeginningsLLC. An overwhelming and defeating daily topic of student loan burden dominated my former teaching colleagues discussions. Daily frustration regarding inconsistent information from lenders and servicers, and the complete lack of care and concern regarding each individual's student loan story, created an environment of worry, fear and defeat. Could there possibly be ANYTHING, ANY PROGRAM that could alleviate some of the student loan burden paralyzing those individuals passionately giving their efforts to educate and nurture our local children? The answer....Public Service Loan Forgiveness. More importantly, Public Service Loan Forgiveness is accessible to ANY individual working in the public service sector, not-for-profit or 501-C. This had to be the solution to all the complaints and desperation and yes it undoubtedly was. We had a promising solution. The inherent skepticism and possible untrustworthiness of the program began to find it's way into the newfound student loan forgiveness utopia. As I dedicated my efforts to examining the program, I discovered the loop holes and fine print was not transparently and easily provided to those enveloped by the almighty student loan forgiveness solution. I did find that those loop holes DO NOT exclude one from Public Service Loan Forgiveness but they most definitely are elusive and are sure to disappoint if one is not provided the CORRECT information. Provided with this area of expertise, I began the conversation with colleagues and teachers throughout the Spokane area. There IS a program presented by the Department of Education that DOES allow loan forgiveness and I wanted to share it with all who TRULY wanted to listen. It isn't as easy to access as presented. What are the loop holes? What do I have to do YEARLY to access this loan forgiveness after 120 qualifying payments? What is a qualifying payment? What if I am employed by qualifying employer and I didn't know? I know there are a multitude of questions and skeptics. Rightfully so. It has been my commitment and expertise, as Founder of NewBeginnings, that has helped hundreds of individuals ensure that they are on the path to receiving the loan forgiveness they deserve. As a former English teacher, I ask my clients who their audience is in regards to student loan repayment. The answer is a debt collector. Do not be misled by the debt collector. Do not wait until your "10th" year and are denied because of inconsistent, misleading, and incomplete information.
