My disclaimer, as I write, is that this blog post comes from my heart and to some, it may seem unprofessional or too personal, steering away from what a business woman "should be". I have never been one to follow the rules, shy away from a challenge. I am, and always will be, a fighter, a risk taker, a believer in big dreams, the belief that there is a solution, and the most inherent desire to be a part of the solution. I believe in transparency, empathy, honesty, integrity and grabbing onto those critical moments that ultimately define our character. I will be the first to admit that the risk I took to become a business owner grew from struggle. It grew from uncertainty, from doubt, from skepticism, from fear. Were those ideas and feelings going to define my character and my business? Absolutely not!
NewBeginnings Spokane was built on a selfish desire to prove that despite all of the obstacles I would face, there was great need for student loan advocacy and I wanted to be the one to provide that breath to those I would help, that breath that would provide respite and peace of mind. I have been transparent since NewBeginnings Spokane's inception, demonstrating integrity, expertise and admitting when I was unsure of a question posed, ensuring that an answer would be provided through diligence and honesty. To answer the remainder of the title of this blog is simply complicated. It most definitely encompasses the internal drive for success and the basic principals of running an effective business. I recognize that results speak for themselves and that spread sheets and data are important. I resolve myself to the fact that this is a business and without funding from my clients, I would not be able to continue. Those reasons are simple and numerical, just the strategic principles of business. The depth of my reason, however, started with my own "story". It began as a risk, a reason to prove myself, break the cynicism of starting a business and skepticism in regards to student loan relief. Rather quickly, the depth of my reason began to evolve from those who trusted me with their stories of frustration, despair, regret, and fear. Those desperate and skeptical stories transcended into empirical results, celebratory phone calls, life changing opportunities. My reason is driven daily by my dedication to integrity, transparency, advocacy and results. My client's testimonials and life changing stories of peace of mind, respite and relief have built the successful foundation of a business that I could have only hoped for. I am humbled and grateful for each client who has trusted me with their "story" ... YOU are my reason.

![]() Public Service Loan Forgiveness was one of the initial programs that led me to create NewBeginningsLLC. An overwhelming and defeating daily topic of student loan burden dominated my former teaching colleagues discussions. Daily frustration regarding inconsistent information from lenders and servicers, and the complete lack of care and concern regarding each individual's student loan story, created an environment of worry, fear and defeat. Could there possibly be ANYTHING, ANY PROGRAM that could alleviate some of the student loan burden paralyzing those individuals passionately giving their efforts to educate and nurture our local children? The answer....Public Service Loan Forgiveness. More importantly, Public Service Loan Forgiveness is accessible to ANY individual working in the public service sector, not-for-profit or 501-C. This had to be the solution to all the complaints and desperation and yes it undoubtedly was. We had a promising solution. The inherent skepticism and possible untrustworthiness of the program began to find it's way into the newfound student loan forgiveness utopia. As I dedicated my efforts to examining the program, I discovered the loop holes and fine print was not transparently and easily provided to those enveloped by the almighty student loan forgiveness solution. I did find that those loop holes DO NOT exclude one from Public Service Loan Forgiveness but they most definitely are elusive and are sure to disappoint if one is not provided the CORRECT information. Provided with this area of expertise, I began the conversation with colleagues and teachers throughout the Spokane area. There IS a program presented by the Department of Education that DOES allow loan forgiveness and I wanted to share it with all who TRULY wanted to listen. It isn't as easy to access as presented. What are the loop holes? What do I have to do YEARLY to access this loan forgiveness after 120 qualifying payments? What is a qualifying payment? What if I am employed by qualifying employer and I didn't know? I know there are a multitude of questions and skeptics. Rightfully so. It has been my commitment and expertise, as Founder of NewBeginnings, that has helped hundreds of individuals ensure that they are on the path to receiving the loan forgiveness they deserve. As a former English teacher, I ask my clients who their audience is in regards to student loan repayment. The answer is a debt collector. Do not be misled by the debt collector. Do not wait until your "10th" year and are denied because of inconsistent, misleading, and incomplete information.
